In 2006, the Queen of Pink organization was founded by Carol Ware with the hopes of helping breast cancer patients in financial need pay for their treatments and other expenses.  We are a non-profit organization promoting breast cancer awareness around the state of Louisiana.

What is Queen of Pink?

Queen of Pink gives financial assistance to residents of Calcasieu, Beauregard, Cameron, Jeff Davis and Allen Parish who have breast cancer.  A one-time gift of $500 is given to each recipient.  The aid is to cover the patient's treatment and other breast cancer related expenses.

Several fundraisers are held throughout the year to maintain funds.   Two major fundraisers are the annual Queen of Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Walk held in Ragley, Louisiana and the annual Queen of Pink Pageant held in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

The walk is held the 1st Saturday in October in Ragley at the Purple Heart Memorial Park.

The pageant is held the second Saturday of June in Lake Charles at Water's Edge Church.  For the pageant, ladies of all ages come together to raise money and compete for the chance to represent the organization for the year as a Queen of Pink queen.  An Ambassador of Pink title is awarded to the contestant with the most donations. In addition, Princess of Pink titles are awarded to contestants with donations of $250 and above.

The students of South Beauregard High School also hold an annual fundraiser at their school for the Queen of Pink Organization.

Over the years, SBHS students, their families, surrounding communities, and Queen of Pink royalty have raised thousands of dollars to benefit breast cancer patients in the local community.
